New Fall drink alert ! I call it...Turmeric spice!
The change in season is here and so is all things latte, pumpkin and Chai.Its time to grab a cup of something warm. As I stood in one of my favorite New York Coffee shops waiting for my order, I couldn't help but cringe as everyone on the waiting line was either sneezing or coughing. This year fall temperatures were up and down, gifting us with unpleasant allergies, head colds, and sore throats. So I decided it was time to whip up my favorite remedy to combat the seasonal sickness.

What is great about this drink is you can make it every morning from the comfort of your own home and not break the bank every morning at the coffee / juice shop. All the ingredients used work together to combat all things cold-flu & allergy. Also its great for your skin ;).
Turmeric has been used as a spice in Indian recipes and natural medicine for thousands of years. Turmeric offers many health benefits since it has both anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.Both milk and turmeric are anti-oxidants. Turmeric milk helps fights free radicals that damage skin and make it lose its glow and elasticity.
Ginger (gives the drink a kick of spice) has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional/alternative medicine. It has been used to help digestion, reduce nausea and help fight the flu and common cold. It is also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects which can help with inflamed throat and thyroid. (whoa!)
Cinnamon also reduces Inflammation, as well as has an anti-clotting effect on the blood.
So heres the scoop on how to make:
1 tsp of Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp of Ginger
1/3 tbs of Turmeric
HOT water
Organic Vanilla Almond milk
!Voila!
Move over Lattes and here comes my new morning shot of Turmeric Spice !
